Tex-pat potter, based in Portland, OR.
Originally hailing from Houston, Texas, I settled in Portland in spring of 2022 after a 6-month road trip throughout the western US. I fell so in love with the vibrant communities and the lush environment of the Pacific Northwest during my trip, that I just HAD to pick up my life and move.
My journey to becoming a potter has been a crooked and beautiful path. I’ve been artist in some form or fashion for the majority of my life. I started out my career teaching music (B.A. Music Education, Texas Tech University) and singing professionally. Then I realized I had a brain for business, so I pivoted. Two masters degrees later (MA in Arts Mgmt + MBA, Southern Methodist University), I started working in arts nonprofits, then for-profit companies doing a lot of operations & project management work in healthcare, consulting, and brand strategy companies. I earned the moniker “Everything Woman,” amassing skillsets and herding cats everywhere I went.
I’ve always loved diving deep into whatever I do, and when I took my first ceramics class in 2023, my attitude toward this art form was no different. I put my heart and soul into every detail of the process, and I hope you find some of that love in every pot I make.
When I’m not in my studio, you can catch me reading, walking my reactive rescue pup Cooper, making jam from scratch, and hanging and laughing with the best man ever to walk this earth, Alex, and our beautiful friends and family.
